Welcome to our pediatric practice

field-trip-02It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to serve your wishes. We look forward to sharing with you what we know about creating optimal dental health for growing children.

Our practice has evolved since 1974 with the guidance given us by many children. We also take pride in keeping current with the latest research and applying that knowledge to providing the best possible care for our patients. You will no doubt notice many things we do differently than when you were a child or than what you currently experience in your own dentist's office. We encourage questions since we believe that is how we can best address your concerns about long range dental health.

orientation-09The first visit to the office is an orientation to dentistry for the children and an opportunity to meet the staff. In a circle time discussion we will introduce the children to some basic thoughts about the health of their teeth. There will also be some interesting tips here for parents about helping their children clean their teeth. We will then give the children a hands on tour of the office with the opportunity to push buttons, flip levers, ride the chair, squirt the water hoses, etc. This is all voluntary and the more timid children may look more than interact.

We want it to be a fun and demystifying experience for the children. They will all go home with their own tooth care kit complete with some special stickers.

img0551The second visit will involve a thorough examination by Dr. Thompson or Dr. Ryan, an in depth discussion of our dental health goals for your child, and a hands on experience for both of you, focusing on the identified areas of concern. This will be a real close and fun appointment for the two of you. We recommend you dedicate this appointment time to your special patient.

At the end of the appointment we will provide you with a written summary of our findings and recommendations to support the verbal communication we had during the appointment.

If you have any questions about the office, feel comfortable calling. You might also jot your questions down and bring them to the orientation appointment.

We look forward to seeing you.

Have a wonderful day,
